I went to an M-Hero dealer in Beijing to check out the new M-Hero M817. I checked the cars, the stuff, and everything else. The M817 is a monster off-road SUV with up to 505 kW and 848 Nm. This is what I saw:

This is the ORA Good Cat, seen on a warm spring day in Beijing, the capital of China. The Good Cat looked brand new, painted in Pink Coral/Black, with five-spoke alloy wheels, and darkened windows.

Here’s an ultra-rare Rolls-Royce Phantom Spirit Of Ecstasy Centenary, seen at a rather mundane parking lot in the east of the Chinese capital, Beijing. The enormous Rolls-Royce looked massively brilliant.

Here’s a Hongqi H6, seen on a muddy parking lot in Beijing. The H6 is a sporty sedan with a low-slung design. Like many newer Hongqi models, it has a modern interpretation of the classic Hongqi hood ornament, running from the hood into the shiny grille. It is painted in Charming Night Black with a Graphite Black interior.

Here’s a Jiyue 01, seen in southern Beijing. The Jiyue 01 is a full-electric SUV with 544 hp. It looked racy, with a low front spoiler, huge wheels, and darkened lights and windows. The 01 is a rare car, as the Jiyue brand existed only for a few years.

This is a Foton Fengjing i7 painted in White Jade, seen in northern Beijing in the summer of 2025. The Fengjing i7 is a new fully electric minivan with six seats, a 110 kW motor, and a $13.7K price tag.

Here’s a beautiful Honda Accord sedan, seen in Beijing in the autumn of 2018. The Accord looked perfect for its age, painted white with the original wheels, and featuring very special white Beijing license plates.

Here’s a Porsche 911 GT3, seen at a nondescript parking lot in east Beijing in the spring of 2018. The German supercar stood unattended between a Porsche Panamera and a Jaguar XJS. It was an unusual spot for such a rare and massively expensive machine.

I went to an Xpeng shop in China. The reason for my visit was the new Xpeng P7, one of the wildest mainstream Chinese cars ever. Happily, the shop had a Rhythm Yellow example on display right behind the door.
