Here’s a Geely Merrie hatchback, seen in Beijing in 2016. It was in fantastic shape for its age, with the insurance stickers on the windshield going back to 2003! The Merrie is completely original, down to the wheels and even the mud flaps. A real time capsule on the road.

Here’s an AUDI E5 Sportback, parked alongside the road in southern Beijing in the spring of 2026. The high-tech electric car was brand new, painted in Morning Dawn Purple. It packs a 525 hp powertrain and an 83 kWh battery. Â
Here’s a 212 T01, seen at a car market in east Beijing in the summer of 2025. It looked great in Breeze Blue, with big off-road tires and a night-light on the front fender. It has a 4×4 powertrain with a 252 hp 2.0 turbo under the hood. Let’s have a closer look at this interesting machine:

This is a Hafei Baili HFJ 7090, seen in March 2017 at a car market in Jinan, the capital of Shandong Province. The beautiful Baili was in reasonable shape. Oddly, the owner had painted the wheels green and the interior blue.

Here’s a Mitsuoka Galue-II, seen at a car market in Beijing in 2025. It looked fantastic in dark black, with its shiny bumpers and white-wall tires. The car was slightly modified, with a lower ride height, bigger wheels, and a cool flag pole.

This is a JAC Kunspeed ET9 at a JAC Commercial Vehicles dealership in Xi’an, Shaanxi Province, China. I had never come across the Kunspeed before, so the moment I spotted it, I rushed over like a madman. The staff gave me a warm welcome and gladly showed me around the truck.

This is the Qiyuan A06E, a streamlined, fully-electric fastback sedan launched earlier this year. It has a dark lightbar with the Qiyuan logo in the middle, darkened windows, and a lidar above the windshield. The Qiyuan A06E is a rear-wheel drive car with a max range of 630 kilometers.

Here’s a Mazda 323 sedan, seen in Dongba District in Beijing in May 2016. The good Mazda looked incredibly good and perfectly maintained, like a time capsule from the early 2000s, painted in a light-beige color and still on the factory-original seven-spoke wheels.

Here’s a Beijing BJ80, seen at a car market in the far southwest of the Chinese capital, Beijing. The boxy SUV looked great in Dark Night Black, and it was fitted with the original 18-inch five-spoke alloy wheels.
