A Mercedes-Benz 220E sedan, seen on a car market in west Beijing in the great summer of 2023. The old E was painted in a beige shade, and it looked remarkably well for its age, with a smooth body, shiny chrome, no rust or large busts, and most of its original wheel covers.

A beautiful Mercedes-Benz C-Class sedan, seen in Beijing in May 2014. The compact German limousine was in great shape, black with darkened windows, and sitting on the original alloy wheels. Sadly, the Mercedes hood ornament was missing. But I didn’t care, because this old Benz had the oldest black license plate I had ever seen:

A Mercedes-Benz C-class sedan, seen at the now-gone Worker’s Stadium in Beijing in 2012. The Benz was a wrapped in a very nice orange wrap with a black racing stripes. It was further sexed up with darkened windows and a unique 京N·3UU33 license plate.
A Mercedes-Benz SLK200 Kompressor, seen in Beijing in 2012. The sporty Merc’ was made sportier with a nice body kit including a front spoiler and side skirts. It had darkened windows and stood on five-spoke gray alloy wheels.

A big ‘barge Maybach 62, seen in China’s capital Beijing back in February 2011. The 62 was in a great shape, painted in a dark shade of black with a white stripe over the side. Thee was nobody inside, not even a driver, but it had the window open.
A pretty Mercedes-Benz SLK 230 roadster, seen in 2014 in Beijing, capital of China. The coolest thing first: the 京E·60000 license plate. I can’t remember ever seeing another car in China with four zero’s behind the first number. truly unique plate on a relatively rare car.
