In 1990, Beijing was host to the Asian Games. When the games were over, the are near the games’ village was taken over by a car market; hence the Asian Village Car Market. This market was within the northern Third Ring Road. I have been there once, in 2004, bit I didn’t take any pictures😪.
In 2005 the market was moved to a new location outside the northern Fifth Ring Road, but they kept the old name. Just at that time, I was busy with all sorts of other things, so it was only in 2008 that I visited the ‘new’ Asian Games Village Car Market for the first time.

Wuyi Mountain, aka Mt Wuyi, is the most famous peak of the Wuyi Mountain Range, a very popular local tourist destination in China. I happened to be there in 2004, and I saw some interesting vehicles.

This is a Huayang BHQ 6361B MPV. I saw it at the 2003 Changchun Auto Show in Jilin Province in China, and at the time I thought it was the coolest minivan in the world. I even decided, were they ever to sell it in Beijing, I would buy one.

One you don’t see every day in China: a very rare Series 1 Citroen CX! We know that a small number of Series 1 was used as high-end taxi’s in Beijing in the early 1980’s. Considering this car’s yellow color, I assume this is one of those.
A beautiful brown beige Volvo C70 coupe, seen in the south of Beijing. The C70 is probably one of the best looking cars ever made; with elegant yet masculine lines.

A super speedy E60 BMW M5 sedan, seen at FB-City in Beijing. The beastly Bimmer looked as new, inside and out. The dark silver shade looks great on the M5, and its design has aged well.
This is a Sanxing SXZ6490 second generation Dodge Caravan. Sanxing Auto, translated as 3-Star, was a Guangdong-based company that made a wild range of cars in the 1990’s and early 2002’s.
A black Ford Probe GL, seen in the far eastern suburbs of Beijing. The car was is a reasonable overall shape, but much in need of repairs to its bodywork and paint.
A white Ford Tempo sedan, seen in the far east of the Chinese capital Beijing. The poor Ford looked very dusty and it had some damage here and there, but nothing too serious.
