Visiting A Tuning Show In Beijing In 2009

This is a story about a tuning show in Beijing in 2009. Back then, there were many tuning shows and dealer shows at the Agricultural Exhibition Center in Beijing.

Naturally, I went to every one of them. These days, organizers no longer use the Agricultural Exhibition Center for such low-key events, and they now hold most tuning shows at larger venues on the outskirts of the city. No matter! Things change. In the first photo, a bizarre Spider-Man-themed machine with enclosed wheel arches and a very impressive paint job.

Real Police Cars On The Police Car Show In China

 

When still in China, I loved to go to police equipment shows to check out new police cars. But whereas I was there just for fun, there were also real coppers shopping for new wheels for their department, and those coppers came by police cars.

So today we have a flock of real police cars on the police car show, with white police car license plates. This was in 2013. We start with this very pretty Beijing-Jeep Grand Cherokee police car, with the characters Jingcha (police) on the bonnet and the characters Sifa (judicature, for the Ministry of Justice) on the rear doors.

A Fiery Red Pontiac Firebird And Some Other Great Cars In Beijing

And on that day in 2003, I went to an old housing complex in Beijing. It is very beautiful and fully accessible, but tourists have never found out about it, and as far as I know, the place still exists. Luckily, I saw some great cars.

Back into July 2003 I went to the great Goldenport circuit in northeast Beijing to see some speedy racing. In those days, the track wasn’t in a very good shape but the atmosphere was fantastic. Lots of on and off track action below, with fast cars, cool cars, and some babes.

Shopping For A Police Car In China

A Volkswagen Passat Lingyu police car on the 2010 China International Exhibition on Police Equipment (CIEPE), held in the beautiful Beijing Exhibition Center in northwest Beijing. Sadly, the show has since moved to the less pretty China National Convention Center.

The show was about all sorts of police equipment, ranging from guns to uniforms to surveillance cameras. Great fun. But even better were the police cars, displayed by car makers hoping for a deal with the cops. Some of these cars did eventually make it into real police cars; others didn’t. Checking Out The Parking Lot Of The Fortune Mall In Beijing

The Fortune Mall is a high-end shopping mall/office tower/apartment building in Beijing. There is a small pink-colored area with rare and high-end cars on B3. I went down there to take a look. Starting with a white Rolls-Royce Dawn with a wine-red top.
