The Voyah Taishan is a typical Chinese luxury SUV: gigantic, high-tech, in-your-face, and loaded with bling. I saw this Gilded Purple example in southern Beijing in the spring of 2026. There’s much to tell:
About the Voyah brand

Voyah is a Chinese luxury NEV brand under Dongfeng Motors (DFM), founded in 2019 and headquartered in Wuhan, Hubei Province. The Voyah name derives from the English/French word “voyage.”

The Chinese name is 岚图 (Lántú). After a slow start, Voyah quickly expanded its lineup to eight models today. Sales are okay. In most months, the Voyah brand hovers between the 30th and 40th spot in China’s brand-sales rankings. In June 2026, Voyah sold 12.399 cas, good for the 36th spot and a 0.77% market share. The best-selling Voyah is the Dreamer MPV.
The Voyah Taishan

The Voyah Taishan is a large luxury six-seat SUV, launched in November 2025. The design is tank-like, with a high hood, relatively small windows, and wide front and rear fenders. The car in the photos is the mid-range Voyah Taishan Ultra model.
The Taishan name (泰山, Tàishān) derives from Mount Tai, one of China’s Sacred Mountains. Well, both the car and the mountain are large and heavy. The Voyah’s curb weight is a massive 2852 kg. The car’s dimensions are 5230/2025/1817, 3120.
The interior of the Voyah Taishan

Somebody bought a new iPhone!
These large SUVs are all about luxury and comfort. The cabin is clad in leather and suede, with aluminium detailing. The seats are wide and fitted with neck pillows. The pod atop the dashboard is part of the 32-speaker Voya Sound audio system with 2300 watts.

There are two air-cooled wireless chargers on the center tunnel. In the middle is a large 16.1-inch touch screen, and the driver looks out over a 10.25-inch display and an HUD. The interior color is Dark Red.

Voyah darkened the rear windows too much for a photo, so I borrowed one. This is the second row with two heated & ventilated captain seats with leg rests and tray tables. The 21.4 3K touch screen folds down from the ceiling. Other standard equipment includes a large sunroof, a fridge, and a karaoke system. Even with six folks on board, the frunk holds 305 liters of stuff. With the third row down, that goes up to 1193 liters. The second row is fixed in place.

A manhole cover with Voyah’s 22-incg manhole cover wheel. The manhole cover belongs to the rain-drainage system. Note the character 雨 (yǔ) on the cover, which means “rain”.
Specifications of the Voyah Taishan

The grille has 34 vertical bars, with a truly gigantic Voyah logo in the middle.
The Voyah Taishan Ultra is a PHEV. The complex powertrain combines a 110 kW/220 Nm 1.5-liter turbo ICE with two electric motors: 150 kW/310 Nm at the front and 230 kW/395 Nm at the rear. The system output is 510 kW and 925 Nm. Voyah claims 0-100 in 5.2 seconds, and top speed is limited to 200 km/h.

Like many high-end Chinese PHEVs, the Voyah Taishan has a very long range. Thanks to a 65-liter fuel tank and a 65 kWh (yes, same number) SVOLT ternary lithium battery, the range is a massive 1430 kilometers. The electric-only range is 290 kilometers. The Taishan has an 800 V architecture for fast charging; 20-80% in 12 minutes.
Huawei ADS 5.0

Huawei is one of China’s largest ADAS suppliers. Its main product is “Huawei ADS“, so you can say “Huawei ADS ADAS”, which is a tad confusing. Car brands consider Huawei ADS a strong selling point; they advertise it, and the cars feature ADS badges, like the red badge on the Voyah Taishan.

The Voyah Taishan has ADS 5.0, currently the most advanced version of Huawei ADS. The L2+ system features 11 cameras, 20 ultrasonic radars, 5 millimeter-wave radars, and one 896-line lidar. With this, the Taishan can drive autonomously on the highway and in the city, park autonomously, and has a fully automatic valet function.
Price

The Voyah Taishan Ultra costs 459.900 yuan or $68K. That makes it an expensive car for China, but the price is comparable to other SUVs in the same segment. The Voyah Taishan competes with cars like the Aito M9, the Lynk & Co 900 EM-P, the NIO ES8, and the upcoming Xiaomi Skynomad N90.
