This is a W140 Mercedes-Benz S 280, seen in a central Beijing office area in February 2013. The big Mercedes looked absolutely perfect! It was very rare to see a W140 in this condition in China – especially in the winter. The owner clearly took very good care of his S 280.

This is a Mercedes-Benz 600 SEL Pullman stretched limousine, based on the W140 S-Class. I saw this great-looking limousine at a car market in East Beijing in 2017. It stood alone in front of an abandoned shop – seemingly abandoned. Happily, it seemed in reasonable shape.

Mercedes-Benz Advertises The S-Class In In China

An advertisement for the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, seen in a residential compound in Beijing in 2009, shows a brown example with sporty five-spoke alloys. It is always interesting to see carmakers advertise their most expensive offerings in such a way, even in a luxury-crazy market like China. Mercedes started selling the W221 S-Class in China in 2006, initially only in S300 trim. Later on, they added the S350, S500, and S600 to the lineup. The price of the base S-Class in 2009 started at 9.93 million yuan.

A Yellow W126 Mercedes-Benz 560 SEL In China

A super clean W126 Mercedes-Benz 560 SEL. It is painted in light yellow, a typical shade for taxis in Germany, and it also has ultra basic wheel covers, and that is typical taxi too. And guess what? There were indeed W126 taxis, although I have’t been able to find a 560 SEL taxi.
