Mitsubishi 3000GT Is A Cool Japanese Sports Car In China

A Mitsubishi 3000GT sporty car, seen in the great city of Xiamen in Fujian Province by Pinut187 in 2013, thank you for the pictures! The 3000GT was very dirty and dusty but in a good general shape. All it needed was some love and a good cleanup.

The Mitsubishi GT was a true Japanese supercar. It was manufactured from 1990 until 2001. It was called Mitsubishi GTO in its homeland but not in the rest of the world where Mitsubishi was afraid to piss off Ferrari. In North America, the 3000GT was slightly reworked and rebadged as the Dodge Stealth.

The 3000GT was powered by a 3.0 V6 with 222 hp and 272 Nm. The engine was mated to a five-speed manual sending horses to the front wheels. But that was just the base model. Mitsubishi also offered variants with a 282 hp twin-turbocharged V6 and four-wheel drive, and a top the range stood the 3000 GT VR-4, with 300hp, 4WD, and four-wheel steering.

The 3000GT in Xiamen is a base model with the naturally aspirated V6 and front-wheel drive. Nothing wrong with that, as it did 220 km/h and 0-100 in just under nine seconds. The Mitsubishi 3000GT was not officially sold in China but quite a lot of cars have arrived via the gray market and other misty channels, so it isn’t ultra rare. Over the years I have seen at least a dozen myself and others have seen a many more.
