Yes, really everything goes on the highway in China, like this enormous truck seen on the mighty 5th Ring Road in Beijing. The truck was totally and dangerously overloaded with discarded carton, and likely on its way to a recycling facility.
The truck was loaded far over the max, with carton sticking out way over de sides of the flatbed and almost as high as the overpass! The carton appeared to lie very loose, only held together by its own weight, some flimsy ropes, and a large blue canvas cover that wasn’t exactly fixed in place. The truck was clearly struggling with the weight and height of its load and moved forward only slowly, so I passed it quickly to get out of harm’s way.
