The advertisement was on a magazine holder on the back of the driver’s seat. I guess they thought this was a smart advertising strategy as many girls take taxis, without and with their boyfriends.
This was in a time that a lot was allowed in China, in the sexual sphere. There were half-naked or even fully naked models everywhere, on car shows, selling apartments, inflatable beds, and even in shopping malls and such. Breast augmentation was red hot. Sadly president Xi Jinping has put an end to all that, mostly from 2015 onward. All those great tits in taxi’s are now gone.
Today, taxi’s have advertisements on pad-like computer screens, showing dull products and important messages from the government. Old people like me always say the old days were better. That’s because the were.
You are so right about this. I came to china in 2011… and now, in 2021 i kind of understand i was a young boy back then. If a 31 year old me from 2021 would time travel to early 2000’s …. man i would achieve a lot more. it was perfect time for illegal things and laowai gigs, and people were different. my older friends from china are so much cooler, when comparing to useless smartphone generation of today.
