Truck Is Slightly Overloaded In China, And Broken Down

Overloaded truck in China

A slightly overloaded flatbed truck, seen near the Fifth Ring Road in Beijing. The truck is loaded with wood and was likely headed for a recycling facility.

The load sticks out at least a meter on each side, and is held together by flimsy white rope. It was also broken down. I saw te driver lying half under the cabin, hammering away at something. Perhaps the load was a bit too much for the old chariot..?

Transporting wood in this way is officially forbidden in China, but in reality nobody really cars, especially not this far out of town. And recycling is a good thing, right?
