A slightly overloaded minivan, seen late at night in a Beijing suburb by reader Lao Wei, thank you for the photo!
The minivan is carrying a heavy load of carton and is likely on its way to a recycling facility. Every gram is worth money so the driver tried to stash as much carton in and on his van as he could, and he succeeded spectacularly.
Driving with overloaded minivans like this is officially forbidden in China, but out there in the suburbs nobody really cares, and they care even less in the darker hours of day.
The minivan is probably a Jinbei, or one of China’s trillion other HiAce clones.
