Mitsubishi Eclipse Is Pretty In Red-Orange In China

Mitsubishi Eclipse

A Mitsubishi Eclipse sporty car, seen in south central Beijing in the cold winter of 2013. The Eclipse was in a fine shape and slightly modified, with black headlights visors, an odd black grille, a black rood, darkened windows, and a set of sporty five-spoke alloys.

It was a very cold day, and one can almost feel the ice! Even the dust on the back looks frozen, and it probably was. The owner added some non-Mitsubishi badges, like the (Nissan) GT-R badge and the (Honda) RS badge. Well, they are all from Japan, right?

The rear light visors are darkened too. The spoiler and the exhaust pipe are original. The third generation Mitsubishi Eclipse was manufactured from 1999 until 2005. It was not officially sold in China, but quite a few examples arrived via the gray market and other misty channels. It was a front-engineĀ  front-wheel drive car, powered by a 150 hp 2.4 four or a 200 hp 3.0 V6.

Mitsubishi started official sales of the Eclipse on the Chinese car market in 2006 with the fourth generation.

The winter sun in Beijing is very bright and very low, never easy to take a good photo, but the light effects more than make up for it!
