Brabus Mercedes-Benz G500 4×4² Is A Crazy SUV In China

Brabus G500 4x4

A Brabus Mercedes-Benz G500 4×4², seen on Beijing Tuning Tribe tuning street, on the very same day I met a speedy Lamborghini. The crazy off-road ready SUV looked brilliant in yellow with and dark gray detailing.

Mercedes-Benz G500 4×4² was a wild off-road edition of the W463 Mercedes-Benz G-Class. It was produced from 2015 until 2018. Power came from a twin-turbocharged 4.0 liter V8 engine with an output of 416 hp and 610 Nm, mated to a seven-speed automatic. The 4×4² had portal axles, three lockable differentials, shock damper struts with adjustable damping, extra ground clearance, and wider tracks.

The German tuner Brabus made several cars based on the G500 4×4², including the mad Brabus 550 Adventure. The car we have here is fitted with a ‘basic’ Brabus kit, including front bumper add-ons, a faux hood scoop, carbon fiber wheel arch extensions, darkened hood lights, a roof spoiler at the rear, a Brabus grille, and Brabus wheels. The owner of this ‘Solar Beam Yellow’ example also added a badass bull bar.

The interior was sexed up too, with carbon fiber trim and leather-suede seats. Note the ancient-looking pop-down door locks!

The owner furthermore added darkened rear-light visors, darkened windows, and an additional bar under the bumper. These kind of bars are commonly used on large trucks, to prevent other cars from slipping under a truck’s chassis at a rear-ender. The Brabus Mercedes-Benz G500 4×4² seems indeed tall enough to be a danger for smaller vehicles…

Cool sticker. Grazy, with a G for G-Wagon, aka G-Wagen. ‘Wagen’ is the German word for car.

The owner is apparently a great fan of Nike shoes. Off-White is a clothing company that collaborated with Nike to create a bunch of extra special shoes. But those didn’t include the classic Nike Air Jordan 1, launched in 1985, which was a Nike solo product. Beaverton is a small city in the American state of Oregon, home to Nike’s headquarters. A lot of information in that decal!

There is an AIR sticker on the rear door, and a huge Nike logo over both doors. I was very curious to meet the owner, to check his shoes. I stayed around the car for a while, checking out other cars in the area, but nobody showed up. So I left. I wear Adidas. Should I put Adidas decals on my car? Perhaps, perhaps I should.
