Chinese Van Works For The Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense (B.P.R.D)

Dongfeng Xiaokang K07S

A Dongfeng Xiaokang K07S minivan, seen on the Fifth Ring Road in Beijing by our good friend Lao Wei, thank you for the picture! The little Dongfeng has an interesting sticker on the window, saying B.P.R.D Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense.

The BPRD is a fictional organization dreamed up by comic book writer Mike Mignola, and there is even a movie about the bureau.

The comics and the bureau appear to be well-known in China and that is likely why Chinese automotive window sticker factories decided to develop a BPRD-themed products, seemingly with great success. Price for the stickers starts around 5 yuan. The Chinese name of the fictional bureau is 即超自然现象研究和防御局.

Some sticker makers make various other interesting stickers as well, using other fictional names and almost-real names of government organizations. Perhaps I can send some of those H.G.S.C stickers to my ex-girlfriends.

The Dongfeng Xiaokang K07S is a popular minivan made in many variants. Power comes from a 1.3 liter petrol engine with 92 hp and 125 Nm. Price starts at just 34.900 yuan.
