Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano With A Racing Stripe In China

Ferrari 599 GTB

A very speedy Ferrari GTB Fiorano, seen in Beijing in 2011. The good Ferrari seemed brand new and didn’t even have license plates yet. It was painted in a shiny shade of black with a matte gray roof and a silver racing stripe over the bonnet, roof, and rear.

The color combination was probably custom-made for a wealthy costumer, as it wasn’t an official Ferrari palette. It surely looks good on the 599, especially with the silver gray wheels and the yellow brake calipers.

The Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano was manufactured from 2006 until 2012. It was a very high tech car for the time, featuring a light weight aluminum chassis and advanced aerodynamics, including the arched C-pillars and an underbody venturi tunnel that generated so much downforce that the 599 didn’t need a rear spoiler.

But the center piece of the Ferrari 599 was of course the engine: a 6.0 liter naturally aspirated V12 with 612 hp and 608 Nm. In China, the only gearbox option was the 6-speed ‘F1’ automated manual, sending all horses to the rear wheels.  Top speed was 330 kilometers per hour and 0-100 was gone in 3.7 seconds.  Price in China was 4.92 million yuan (2006), which was a very large fortune back in those days.

The happy owner of this car took the dark theme quite far; the interior was all black too, and the mirrors had the same gray color as the roof. Expensive, but probably worth every fen.
