Mercedes-Benz SL500 And Mercedes-Benz E350 Coupe Are A Couple In China

Mercedes-Benz SL500

A Mercedes-Benz SL500 and a Mercedes-Benz E350 Coupe, seen late at night in China’s capital Beijing in 2015. Both cars were slightly modified and had very special license plates.

The C207 Mercedes-Benz E350 Coupe was wrapped in a very classy light-matte shade of white. For contrast, the windows and window frames were made dark black, making for a very pretty combination. The license plate is special too, with three 4’s. The number four is considered to be unlucky in Chinese culture. The C207 E-Class Coupe was made from 2009 until 2017. The E350 model was powered by a 3.5 liter V6 engine with an output of 306 hp and 370 Nm. Price in China (2009) was 768.000 yuan.

The R320 Mercedes-Benz SL500 was wrapped in a unusual dark green matte wrap, and, like the E350, finished with black windows and window frames for contrast. But they went a step further here and painted the wheels black as well. The license plate is very special here, five times 3! That must be one of the most special plates I have ever seen. Plates with subsequent numbers of the same value are extremely desired among China’s car fanatics, with 00000 being the ultimate prize. The R320 SL-Series was made from 2001 until 2011. The SL500 was powered by a 5.5 liter V8 engine, good for 388 hp and 530 Nm. It is very rare in China, no wonder, with a price of 1.51 million yuan (2004).

The two mighty Benzes were closely guarded and stood right in front of a night-time restaurant. They probably belonged to the same owner.
