Going back to Tiananmen Square in 2011, I met these interesting camera vans. They look kind of funny, but they actually are fully mobile police camera vehicles, able to control and inspect large areas of town.

These vehicles are all over the place in Chinese cities. On squares, near shopping malls, on any busy place, really. The car we have here is the SH6550QY, made by a company called Ma Che-Hung Industrial.
Their Chinese brand name is Hongma, and their English brand name is Homa. The logo is a horse with wings. Back in 2011, their cars were petrol-powered, but nowadays they are all electric.

Can you see me? The Hongma camera van SH6550QY has 3 cameras on its roof. One might wonder why it is needed. Note the 3 cameras in the speaker pole in the background; the whole square is loaded with supervision. But the more the better, I guess.
I am, as you may know, a frequent visitor to police equipment shows, and on those shows, I have been inside this sort of camera car quite a few times. I will share some photos later. Mind that this is a 2011 vehicle; newer ones have way more cameras and sensors.

The Hongma camera vans are operated by the Beijing police. Blue curtains against curious folks. But it does have windshield wipers! On the left is a massive police rescue truck. No pictures, sadly. I felt watched and went elsewhere (:

On my last visit to Beijing, I have even seen some cars with camera on top. I don’t remember the car brand but I guess it was samsung.
No offense but I don’t like samsung cars. I thought Samsung is good for mobiles phones. Especially when you compare samsung cars with some european cars like Volvo, Volkswagen, Samsung cars are not that good.
However I appreciate Samsung cars doing some experiments with car cameras, so my best wished with them.
