The second-phase 991 Porsche 911 Targa debuted in 2016. In China, Porsche sells the Targa 4, the Targa 4S, and the Targa 4 GTS. Our Beijing car is a Targa 4, the ‘base’ model of the range, priced at 1.44 million yuan.

Power comes from a 3.0 liter twin-turbo flat-six, good for 370 hp and 450 Nm. Top speed is 287 km/h and o-100 is gone in 4.5 seconds.

Sadly, the 911 Targa is a very rare sight on the road. The 911-series isn’t very popular here in the first place, and the Targa is the least popular variant.

That is too bad, because the Targa is by far the coolest car of the entire Porsche lineup; mixing retro with modern, mixing coupe with cabrio, powered by a glorious engine.

A beautiful but slightly dark interior. Big ‘n shiny lever for the 7-speed PDK.

The 911 brought back the original 911 Targa look, after the ungainly 993/996/997 Targa models that had an ugly, and heavy, glass-roof construction.

These hips are getting wider and wider…

Black font for names.

There should be more of those…
