Suzuki Alto Happy Prince Is A China-only Special Edition With A Fake Hood Scoop

The Suzuki Alto Happy Prince is one of the coolest small Chinese cars ever made. It was a top-spec variant of the Suzuki Alto five-door hatchback, made in China by the Changan-Suzuki joint venture. The Happy Prince name was only used in China. I saw this fine blue example in central Beijing in 2014, parked in front of a Zhuan Ye Food Health Center.

Suzuki Swift Is Matte Orange In China

We stay on the wrapped-car theme for a little longer tonight. This is a Suzuki Swift, a car that I am very familiar with because my wife owned one in China. But hers didn’t look like this! This one is wrapped in a matte orange wrap, and dressed up way further with darkened windows, custom headlights, matte black bumper pieces, an orange dashboard, orange mirrors, and super cool wide tires with silver-orange wire alloys.

A Changhe-Suzuki Changlingwang Minivan Is Getting Old In China

A Changhe-Suzuki Changlingwang minivan, seen in Tai’an in Shandong Province in the summer of 2018. Sadly, the good Changlingwang was in a somewhat sad shape. It was used as storage space instead for driving, and it had all sorts of stuff lying around, including some large pieces of stone.

Suzuki Alto Happy Prince Is Pink In China

An always cool Suzuki Alto Happy Prince, seen in a Beijing hutong back in 2011. The good Alto was in a great shape and looked like it was recently washed. Well, I hope it wasn’t washed too hot because the Alto was a very small car to begin with.

Suzuki Vitara JX With Black License Plates In China

A Suzuki Vitara JX 3-door hardtop with black license plates, seen in 2014 on a car market in Beijing, capital of China. The good Suz’ was in a surprisingly good shape and appeared to be 100% original, up to the Dunlop GrandTrek AT2 tires. Only the paint was fading a little bit, it had a few scratches here and there, and the left-rear hubcap was missing. Not bad for such a fine old car.

Suzuki Alto Happy Prince Is Slightly Modified In China

A flashy Suzuki Alto Happy Prince, seen in central Beijing in 2003. The good Suzuki was slightly modified with a new bonnet, red painted wheels, red mirrors, red light units, a new grille, fake shark fin antennas on the roof, and most of all a load of stickers.

A Changan-Suzuki Alto Party In Beijing

Changan-Suzuki Alto
Changan-Suzuki Alto happy Prince

I have always been, and I will always be, a big fan of the Changan-Suzuki Alto. It is one of the coolest cars ever made in China. In fact, when I arrived in China in 2003 I seriously considered buying one but it was just a tad too small for my needs.

Changan-Suzuki Alto Is A City Baby In China

Changan-Suzuki Alto
Changan-Suzuki Alto

Here we have an ultra cool Changan-Suzuki Alto City Baby, seen in the faraway suburbs of Beijing. The Alto was in an extremely good shape, and that is very rare, as most who have survived until today look beaten up to the max. This one must have a loving owner!
