Decommissioned Police Cars In China: Beijing-Jeep Cherokee, Toyota Land Cruiser, Volkswagen Santana, And Many More

I love Chinese police cars. In the summer of 2018, I was riding around the far east of Beijing with my red Luyuan electric scooter. At one moment, I crossed a railway and found a yard filled with decommissioned police cars from the 1990s, including many classic Beijing Jeep Cherokees.

That made my day. Two elderly police men guarded the place; they were playing cards in the gray building in the background. They didn’t show much surprise about me showing up, and didn’t mind me walking around and taking photos. So, here we go:

IM L6: A Chinese Sports Sedan With 294 HP for $25.5K

This is an IM L6, a Chinese electric sports sedan with distinctive boomerang-shaped headlights. It has a lidar on the roof and a millimeter-wave radar under the license plate. I met the pretty sedan in the far south of the Chinese capotal Beijing.

Wuling Mini EV 4-Door Version: 41 hp, 205-km range, yours for $6.450

Here’s a Wuling Mini EV 4-Door Version, parked next to a sports court in southern Beijing. The electric mini car was brand new and looked super cute & cool, painted in Sweet Coffee and fitted with “five-spoke” black and white wheel covers.

Hyundai XG300 Is A Classy Korean Sedan In China

Here’s a Hyundai XG300, seen in 2016 at a makeshift parking lot near a restaurant mall in eastern Beijing. The Ebony Black sedan looked fantastic for its age, with lots of shiny chrome, slightly darkened windows, and fitted with the original factory alloy wheels.

BMW 325i Touring Is A Rare German Wagon In China

Here’s a BMW 325i Touring, seen on a car market in east Beijing. It looked absolutely fantastic, painted in Titanium Silver Metallic and fitted with  10-spoke alloy wheels. The BMW E46 Touring is a very rare car in China. The owner made a few changes, including a red air intake in the bumper and red air vents in the hood.

Changhe Beidouxing X5E Panel Van Is A Reworked Suzuki

Here’s a Changhe Beidouxing X5E panel van, spotted in a car-repair area in the far north of Beijing, the capital of China. The Beidouxing 5E panel van is directly related to the Suzuki Wagon R+. It features a 55 kW electric motor and a range of 268 km. It looks great in white, and it had to, because white was the only color Changhe offered.
