Here’s a BMW 325i Touring, seen on a car market in east Beijing. It looked absolutely fantastic, painted in Titanium Silver Metallic and fitted with 10-spoke alloy wheels. The BMW E46 Touring is a very rare car in China. The owner made a few changes, including a red air intake in the bumper and red air vents in the hood.

This is a BMW i3 e-Drive 35 L, seen parked along the roadside in Beijing, capital of China. The BMW i3 is a China-only long-wheelbase fully-electric variant of the BMW 3-Series L. This BMW i3 sedan should not be confused with the BMW i3 hatchback.

A beautiful BMW 330 Ci, as seen on a car market in the west of the Chinese capital Beijing. The speedy Bimmer was a bit dusty but otherwise in great shape, painted in Titanium Silver and still rolling on the original alloy wheels.

This has to be one of the rarest cars in China I have ever seen. There are only a few dozen E46 BMW 3-Series coupes in the country. And, as far as I know, this is the only one in red with black license plates and with a manual gearbox! Yes, this sporty little Bimmer is rarer than most Ferraris. I saw it in Beijing back in 2016, and it looked brilliant.

A pink BMW 320 Li, seen in China in October 2015. The BMW was wrapped from heat to toe in a shiny pink wrap, giving lots of color to the gray surroundings. The wrap was properly applied and covered the door handles and mirrors. The chrome trim was left as it was, making for a nice contrast with the pink body and darkened windows.
A rare E36 BMW 325is Coupe, Spotted in China in the Dongba area in the far eastern suburbs of Beijing in November 2015. The good 3 was painted in green and in reasonable shape. The paint on the bonnet, roof, and boot lid was heavily damaged, likely caused by bad Bimmer-hating weather.

A beautiful BMW 330i Coupe, seen in front of the Workers’ Stadium in Beijing in 2012. The speedy Bimmer was wrapped in a cool shiny blue wrap, and further sexed up with darkened windows and dark gray alloy wheels. The wrap’s color almost matched with the license plate.

A white BMW M3 coupe, seen on cold spring day in Beijing, capital of China. The speedy Bimmer was painted in white and fitted with dark matte black alloys. But best of all was the matching license plate: 京N·M3W79.

A wondrous white BMW M3 with an ultra cool 京Y·YM399 license plate, matching the car’s type. The speedy Bimmer is further dressed up with darkened windows, black window frames, and a set of big black wheels. A very nice package indeed.
The E92 BMW M3 coupe was very popular in China; I must have seen hundreds. Power came from a 4.0-liter naturally aspirated B8 engine with 414 hp and 400 Nm, good for a 0-100 in 4.6 seconds. The price for the base model, there were lots of specials as well, started around 1.22 million yuan.
