Lynk & Co 900 EM-P: A Chinese High-tech PHEV With 725 HP

Lynk & Co 900 EM-P

Here’s a Lynk & Co 900 EM-P, seen parked on the roadside in Beijing, the capital of China. The 900 is a massive SUV with an advanced PHEV powertrain with 725 hp. The car in the photos is so new it doesn’t have license plates yet.

About Lynk & Co

Lynk & Co 900 EM-P

Lynk & Co is a Chinese car brand. The Geely Group is the owner. Geely founded Lynk & Co in 2016. Initially, the brand focused solely on young consumers, with fuzzy marketing campaigns and car-sharing plans.

However, that strategy didn’t really work out. After a few years, Lynk & Co evolved into a more conventional mainstream Chinese car brand, albeit with an odd name. The Chinese name is 领克, Lǐng kè.

Today, Lynk & Co sells a wide range of vehicles, with ICE, PHEV, and EV powertrains. Sales in China have been relatively strong and stable. The brand typically ranks around 20th-25th in the brand sales rankings.  In November 2025, Lynk & Co sold 31.793 cars in China, good for the 22nd spot and a 1.42% market share. Within the lineup, the 900 EM-P is the brand’s 5th-best-selling model.

The Lynk & Co 900 EM-P

Lynk & Co 900 EM-P

Lynk & Co launched the 900 EM-P in April 2025 as the flagship SUV of the brand. Measuring 5240/1999 /1810 mm, with a 3160 mm wheelbase, it is by far the largest model Lynk & Co has ever built. The design favors smoothness over elegance, featuring a highly streamlined body and large, mostly unbroken body panels.

The car shown here wears Extreme Dark Black, a shade so dark that most of the exterior lines almost vanish. I saw another 900 in the same color during a rainstorm, and it was nearly invisible on the road. Ultra-dark finishes like this have become a growing trend in China, with many brands now offering similar light-absorbing colors.

Be proud of your platform

Lynk & Co 900 EM-P

The Geely Group has long had the odd habit of putting platform badges on its cars: a platform as a unique selling point, something the owner should be proud of. Other Chinese brands also display platform names in marketing and in dealerships, but never on the cars themselves. The Lynk & Co 900 is, as you may have guessed, based on Geely’s SPA EVO platform. SPA stands for Scalable Product Architecture.

ADAS

Lynk & Co 900 EM-P

The Lynk & Co 900 has a unique mirror stalk design. The stalk runs all the way into the door, displaying the brand name. Note the many cameras and sensors. The car’s L2+ ADAS is impressive, with 11 cameras, 12 ultrasonic radars, 5 millimeter-wave radars, and a lidar. A 700 TOPS Nvidia DRIVE Thor chipset takes care of the computing power.

The interior

Lynk & Co 900 EM-P

The 900 EM-P is a three-row, six-seat SUV. The cabin feels spacious and uncluttered, combining a minimalist design with a heavy dose of technology. The centerpiece is the enormous 30-inch 6K screen that stretches from the center to the passenger’s side.

Note the temporary license plate sticker in the footwell floor: new-car owners in China can use this provisional plate for a short period until permanent license plates are issued and installed. However, this provisional plate should be affixed to the window, not lying around on the floor.

The Lynk & Co 900 also has a 12.66-inch instrument panel and a huge 95-inch HUD. The drive selector is mounted on the steering wheel column. At the center tunnel, it has a shiny rotary dial that controls the infotainment and two 50W air-cooled wireless smartphone chargers. Rotary dials are rare in China, as they look a bit old-fashioned.

The rear compartment

Normally, I always take a photo through the rear window to show the second row. With this car, that was impossible. I tried. The windows were so dark that my camera couldn’t see anything. That’s proper privacy! Happily, I found a photo of the rear compartment on Lynk & Co’s website. The interior color is Starry Night Blue. It looks more like gray to me. The captain seats in the second row are super luxurious, with armrests, leg rests, and tray tables. The 900 also has a 23-speaker Harman Kardon audio system with 2640W. Boosty sound systems are a new trend in China too, with some systems getting close to 3000W.

Specifications

Lynk & Co 900 EM-P

A back body, black bumpers, black lights, and darkened windows. It is the invisible car!

The Lynk & Co 900 EM-P is a plug-in hybrid. EM-P stands for Electric Modular – Performance, Geely’s high-performance PHEV system. It sits above the group’s efficiency-focused hybrid setups, such as EM-i (Electric Modular – intelligent).

Lynk & Co 900 EM-P

The 900 EM-P is a potent machine. The car in the photos is the Lynk & Co 900 EM-P 2.0T Ultra AWD model. It has a 2.0 turbo ICE + two electric motors + a 3-speed DHT (dedicated hybrid transmission) gearbox.  The combined output is 540 kW (725 hp) and 1038 Nm. With all that power, it gets a 240 km/h top speed and does 0-100 in 4.6 seconds. Not bad for a car with a  2810 (!) kg curb weight.

Lynk & Co 900 EM-P

For range, it has a 60-liter fuel tank and a 52.38 kWh CATL NMC battery. The combined range is 1350 kilometers, and the EV range is 280 kilometers. Unlike the latest generation of Chinese PHEVs, the 900 EM-P is not based on an 800V architecture; it only has 400V. Fast-charging takes 17 minutes.

Price of the Lynk & Co 900 EM-P

The Lynk & Co 900 EM-P 2.0T Ultra AWD costs 369.600 yuan or $53K.
