This is the ORA Good Cat, seen on a warm spring day in Beijing, the capital of China. The Good Cat looked brand new, painted in Pink Coral/Black, with five-spoke alloy wheels, and darkened windows.
About ORA
ORA is an EV brand under Great Wall Motors (GWM), was founded in 2018. The car model names are about cats. Today’s lineup has the Good Cat, the Good Cat GT, the Lightning Cat, and the Ballet Cat. Earlier, ORA also sold the White Cat and the Black Cat.

The ORA brand has long been the worst-performing brand of the GWM empire, due to a lack of updates and new models. In November 2025, ORA sold only 3695 cars, good for the 58th place in the brand-sales rankings. But there’s hope. The new ORA 5 has been well-received in China, so perhaps the numbers will go up in the next couple of months.
The ORA Good Cat
The ORA Good Cat is a compact electric hatchback. ORA launched the Good Cat in 2020, with updates in 2023 and in 2025. The car in the photos is an early pre-all-updates example.
In export markets, it is also known as the ORA 03 and/or as the Ora Funky Cat. The design is quite nice, modern, and sporty, with short overhangs, 18-inch wheels, a wide C-pillar, and a racy spoiler above the rear window. The charging port is on the right-front fender.
The interior of the ORA Good Cat
ORA’s interiors are a curious mix between retro and modern. The cabin of the ORA 03 is a case in point: classy, patterned seats with a brown finish, a brown armrest over the wide center tunnel, and a pink dashboard with chrome trim. The owner got himself a set of bear-themed seat covers.
The drive selector is located on the center tunnel. ORA nicely integrated the air vents into the overall dashboard design. The owner added a vent-based mobile phone holder. The centerpiece of the dashboard is the screen, which seems to be a one-piece, but it is divided by a 7-inch instrument panel and a 10.25-inch touch screen.

ORA equipped it with a large panoramic sunroof, a six-speaker audio system, 4G connectivity, and a heated steering wheel, which, at the time, was quite special for the segment.
The specifications of the ORA Good Cat
Note the light bar that’s virtually integrated into the rear window. It also has an F1-style brake light and a hidden trunk handle.
The ORA Good Cat is a single-motor front-wheel drive electric car. The motor of the 2020-2023 Long Range Luxury had an output of 105 kW (143 hp) and 210 Nm for a 150 km/h top speed and a 0-50 time of 3.8 seconds. Many Chinese brands use 0-50 for low-powered EVs, instead of 0-100. The CATL 47.8 kWh LFP battery made for a 401 km CLTC range. Fast-charging (10-80%) took 30 minutes.
Pricing in China
Lots of shine at the front, with chromed headlight frames and totally fake chromed air intakes in the bumper. There’s a small front-facing camera above the license plate. In 2023, the ORA Good Cat Long Range Luxury sold for 137.900 yuan or about $19.5K.
That was not super cheap for China, compared to its competitors in the same segment, so these early ORA 3 hatchbacks are quite rare. Today, the top-spec model costs only 103.800 yuan, or $14.7K, with a 126 kW motor and a 430-km range. Less money – better specs. That’s what the cutthroat competition in China does!
