Here’s a Yuanhang H8, seen near a Yuanhang shop in east Beijing. The H8 is a rare but powerful electric SUV. It has AWD with 670 hp and 745 Nm. The car in the photos is painted in Snow Top White and fitted with dark gray 20-spoke alloy wheels.
About Yuanhang

Yuanhang (远航) is a Chinese EV brand under Dayun Motor (大运汽车), which in turn operates as part of the larger Dayun Group. The Yuanhang brand sells four models: the Y6 and Y7 sedans and the H8 and H9 SUVs.

It is a very small brand, with only a few shops in Beijing. The Dayun Group (大运集团), however, is a large Chinese automotive conglomerate, selling everything from heavy trucks to motorbikes.
The Yuanhang H8

The Yuanhang H8 is a large 3-row SUV, launched in 2023. It is a good-looking machine, with a clean design and a streamlined body. It has large headlights, large windows, lots of shiny chrome, and flush door handles. The H8 is huge: 5230/2015/1760, with a 3126 mm wheelbase.

There’s a spoiler above the rear window, and again, extra-large light units. Big lights were a trend in the 2010s, but today they look a little old-fashioned.
The interior of the Yuanhang H8

The interior is brilliantly red! Yuanhang calls this color “Wealth Nobility Red”, and that is a great name. The other color names are interesting too: Gentlemen Black, Avocado Gray, and Golden Sand. The cabin is very luxurious, with wide Nappa leather seats and leather & wood trim. The design team perfectly integrated the air vents into the dashboard’s design.

I know a big screen when I see one. This monster measures 17.38 inches, which makes it one of the largest single automotive touch screens in China. It also has a 12.3-inch driver’s display. The shifter is mounted on the steering wheel column.

The second row is where you really want to sit. The heated & cooled captain chairs have a message function, arm rests on each side, leg rests, and tray tables. There are two panoramic sunroofs to check out birds and airplanes. Yuanhang equipped the H8 with a 19-speaker audio system and a 256-color ambient lighting system.
Specifications

Yuanhang sells RWD and AWD variants of the H8. The car in the photos is the top-spec Yuanhang H8 AWD Luxury Edition. It is based on a dedicated EV platform with an 800V architecture. The output is 500 kW (670 hp, 680 ps) and 745 Nm. The top speed is 210 km/h, and it races from 0 to 100 in 3.8 seconds.

The battery is a big 98 kWh NMC unit, consuming 17.2 kWh/100 km or 650 km CLTC range. The max charging speed is 330 kW, and charging from 30 to 80% takes 14 minutes.
Price

The Yuanhang H8 AWD Luxury Edition costs 369.800 yuan or $52K. That’s a lot of horses for your bucks! The RWD model, with 340 hp, is cheaper still, with a base price of $42K.
