Tank 300 Cyberknight At The Cyberspace Shop In Beijing

Tank 300 Cyberknight

This is the Tank 300 Cyberknight, seen at the Cyberspace shop in Beijing. Cyberspace is a Chinese car modification company. It is most famous for collaborating with Great Wall Motor’s Tank brand. In 2022, Cyberspace and Tank created the spectacular Tank 300 Cyberknight.

The shop is based on the premises of the Goldenport race track in northeast Beijing. The area is loaded with tuning and racing shops, supercar shops, and a bunch of normal car dealers.  I had no appointment at Cyberspace, but that was okay, as always in China. When I came in, a friendly salesperson showed me around and answered all my questions.

The Tank 300 Cyberknight is based on the Tank 300. The extensive modification included: a faux hood scoop, enlarged bumpers, ultra-wide wheel arches, side bars, black alloy wheels, a roof rack, a roof rear spoiler, new rear lights, and new mirror housings. Cyberspace also upgraded the suspension and raised the ground clearance.

Cyberspace created two variants: 1) Red, with a red interior, red brake calipers, a red decoration on the side bar, and a red dot on the grille. 2) Blue, with all that in blue. The exterior color was always black. Later on, Cyberspace also launched a Cyberknight with a silver exterior.

Price & Production of the Tank 300 Cyberknight

The Tank Cyberknight launched in China in late 2022. It cost 308.000 yuan, quite a bit more than the standard Tank 300, which sold for 253.800 yuan in that period. Tank limited the Cyberknigh production to 3000 units, and all were sold out.

I visited the shop in the summer of 2023. My guide told me the shop converted about 5 cars a day, and that they had done just over 800 cars in total. Cyberspace completed the project in late 2024.

The spoiler is gigantic. It is purely for show, adding more drag than downforce. The Cyberspace logo is on the external luggage box.

The shop was large and spotless, which is rare in China. There was a pretty Honda Civic Si sedan in the shop; it belonged to Cyberspace’s owner.

Crates with parts for the conversion.

A very modern lift bridge. Also rare for China. Most shops use the classic  4-post lifts.

The engine

Interestingly, Cyberspace didn’t make any changes to the engine, so the output was the same as with the regular Tank 300. That probably means that the Cyberknight was slower because of the extra weight of the modification. The output of the 2.0 turbo was 227 hp and 387 Nm. It had an 8-speed automatic gearbox and four-wheel drive.

The Cyberspace logo is on the mirror housing.

The interior design remained the same, but the trim went completely p**n. This, obviously, is the interior of the Red variant, clad in a shipload of real red leather. Even the steering wheel and the grab handles are finished in red.

So many Cyberknights

I counted 11 Cyberknights inside and outside the shop. These 3 were ready to roll. The deliveries went via Tank’s dealer network. So the cars had to go from the shop to the dealer first, and then to the happy customers.

Cyberspace also sells various alloy wheels for the Tank 300.

It was time to go. My guide had to go back to work, and I had so many other places to be. I was about half an hour at the shop. Friendly folks, and they liked what they were doing.

In the background are several racing shops, preparing cars for track days at the Goldenport circuit.

The rear seats weren’t forgotten.

This was the shop’s demo car for the media, standing on fake grass. It was very dusty, but that only added to its coolness. Cyberspace has since created several more Tank special editions, and recently the company went to bed with iCar to create the V23 Cyberspace. I will get back to the shop soon. Stay tuned.
