This is a Lamborghini Gallardo Bicolore LP 560-4, seen in 2011 in the showroom of the Volkswagen China headquarters in the Sanlitun area in Beijing. The Bilcolore stood on a small stage, all alone, looking super beautiful.

The Lamborghini Gallardo Bicolore

The Gallardo Bicolore was a special edition of the Lamborghini Gallardo. ‘Bilcolore’ means dual color; it featured a unique two-tone paint job with a black roof. Note the Audi S8 in the background.

The Gallardo Bicolore was manufactured from 2010 to 2012. It was available in orange, yellow, grey, white, or blue with a black roof and unique ‘Skorplus’ multispoke matte gray alloy wheels.

The Volkswagen headquarters

The Volkswagen China headquarters was in a relatively small office building right in the middle of the Sanlitun embassy and bar district in Beijing. I used to work nearby, and me my colleagues and I often passed by the showroom on our way to lunch.

Whenever I saw a new car, I would get inside and take some photos. There would be top-end Audis, Bentleys, and Lamborghinis. Initially, it was just a showroom. Later on, Volkswagen launched a small lunch room, accessible to all. It was a great place. Sadly, in the early 2020s, Volkswagen moved its China HQ to a new location in the northwestern section of the 3rd Ring Road.

Specifications

The Lamborghini Gallardo Bicolore LP 560-4 packs a naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10, producing 557 hp and 540 Nm. A 6-speed AMT sends all that power to all four wheels.  The supercar did 0-100 in 3.7 seconds, and it had a top speed of 325 kilometers per hour.

Price of the Lamborghini Gallardo Bicolore

Back in 2010, the Gallardo Bicolore LP 560-4 sold for 3.98 million yuan. That made it one of the most expensive mid-engined supercars of its time. However, when I looked into the Bicolore Edition today, it seemed almost completely forgotten, so I doubt it will become a collector’s item anytime soon. Still, the cool factor of this kind of half-mad special-edition supercars is super high.
