A very black second generation Lexus ES sedan, seen in the far east areas of the Chinese capital Beijing in 2014. The good Lexus sat under a thick layer of dust and dirt, and was missing the Lexus logo on the bonnet, but seemed otherwise in reasonable shape.

The second-generation ES was based on the same platform that underpinned the Toyota Camry (XV10). It had a classic front-engine front-wheel-drive layout. Power came from a 2.5 or 3.0 liter V6, mated to a 4-speed automatic or a -speed manual.
The early Lexus ES was not officially sold in China, so seeing one on Chinese roads is a very rare pleasure.
