Here’s a Zeekr 001 FR, seen at the parking lot of a Zeekr shop in northern Beijing. The speedy FR had a damaged front lip. Zeekr calls the stealthy gray color “Lava Gray”. The 001 FR has 1265 hp and a 280 km/h top speed.
About Zeekr
Zeekr is a luxury-middle-class NEV brand. The Chinese name is 极氪, Jíkè. The Geely Group is Zeekr’s owner. Geely founded Zeekr in 2021 to compete with brands like NIO and Tesla. Zeekr is headquartered in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province. The first Zeekr to hit the Chinese car market was the 001. Sales are pretty good. In October 2025, Zeekr sold 18.567 cars. That was good for the 34th spot in China’s passenger car sales rankings, just below Bestune and just above Onvo.
The Zeekr 001 FR
The Zeekr 001 FR is a hardcore variant of the Zeekr 001 shooting brake. The 001 was Zeekr’s first model, launched in 2021. Zeekr unveiled the 001 FR in 2023. It features a carbon-fiber body kit, lowered suspension, huge wheels, and a big wing on the back.

The Zeekr 001 FR is based on Geely’s SEA1 platform. It has a manic four-motor AWD powertrain. The output is a totally crazy 930 kW (1265 hp) and 1280 Nm. Zeekr claims a 280 km/h top speed and a speedy 0-100 in exactly 2.02 seconds. The CATL Qilin CTP 3.0 ternary lithium battery has a 100.01 kWh capacity.
However, due to the enormous amount of horsepower, the electricity consumption is a steep 20.5 kWh/100 km. The Zeekr 001 FR’s range is 550 kilometers CLTC. Fast-charging (10-80%) takes 15 minutes, making the 001 FR one of the fastest-charging performance EVs in China.
It has Pirelli 265/40 R22 tires with beautiful dark black alloy wheels with ventilated brake discs and fiery red brake calipers. There’s a red R stamped into the side of the wheel.
The interior
Wow! Just wow. Zeekr did a really good job here. The entire cabin is clad in suede, with a fiery red and gray color scheme. Most other Chinese car brands use leather in their performance cars, but Zeekr decidedly went for suede. It works very well, especially around the center tunnel.
The drive-selector is on said center tunnel, which is a rather old-fashioned solution, but donm’t forget, the 001 hails from 2021. It has a round, large-diameter, 3-spoke sports steering wheel, a 35.5-inch AR-HUD, a 13.02-inch driver’s display, and a 15.05-inch touch screen.
Zeekr didn’t try to save money in the rear cabin, with the same suede trim and color scheme as in the front. The red seat belts are especially cool.
The price of the Zeekr 001 FR
It has a roof spoiler in addition to the wing, with a diffuser in the bumper and a bar connecting the light units. Zeekr sells only one fully loaded variant of the 001 FR, and it costs 769.000 yuan.
That’s $108K, making it one of the most expensive Chinese cars on the market today. But when you look at it in ¥ to hp, the 001 FR is still a very good EV performance car deal.
