This is a Zeekr MIX, a crazily cool Chinese electric MPV with a daring design and an innovative interior. It is an RWD car with 422 hp. The MIX in the photos is painted in Emerald Blue/Black and fitted with the standard alloy wheels.
About Zeekr
Zeekr is a luxury-middle-class NEV brand. The Geely Group is Zeekr’s owner. Geely founded Zeekr in 2021 to compete with brands like NIO and Tesla. Zeekr is headquartered in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province. The first Zeekr to hit the Chinese car market was the 001. The current lineup consists of eight models.
The Zeekr MIX
The Zeekr MIX is a full-electric five-seat MPV. Zeekr launched the MIX in October 2024. It was easily one of the coolest new Chinese cars of the year. It has an extreme cabin-forward design; the A-pillar starts in front of the front axle. Zeekr pushed the wheels to the corners as far as possible to create more space inside. The MIX is not a beautiful vehicle, but it is cool, innovative, and daring.
The door situation
The door construction is fascinating. It has a normal front door and a sliding rear door on the left side, and a forward-sliding front door and a rearward-sliding rear door on the right. There’s no B-pillar on the right side, creating a large, uninterrupted opening of 1.33 meters.
The interior
The interior is ultra flexible. The front seats can turn around or fold completely flat to create a lounge-like space for glamping. The island between the front seats can slide rearwards and transform into a table.
Note the superwide B-pillar, which sits exactly in the driver’s line of sight. Not good. The window between the B and A-pillar helps a little. Zeekr has fitted the MIX with a super large 15.05-inch 2.5K OLED touch screen with a tiny bezel. Behind the screen is a storage shelf. The Nappa leather seats look classy. It has black, brown, and gold trim bits. The tack-on cup holder looks a tad too cheap. The shifter is mounted on the steering wheel column.
The 13.02-inch driver’s display looks very high-tech. The Zeekr MIX has a large-diameter 3-spoke steering wheel with a thick rim.
The storage shelf is fully integrated with the screen. The shelf and the screen are one single part. The shelf is large enough for, what else, a tissue box.
Endless space in the back, and a completely flat floor. Zeekr can probably launch a six-seat version too; the cabin is easily big enough for two extra seats. There’s a small fridge in the back of the islands between the front seats. Zeekr equipped the MIX with a 21-speaker 2160-watt audio system. The speakers are huge! Check out the unit on the door – that’s a powerful speaker.
Specifications of the Zeekr MIX
Zeekr has based the MIX on Geely’s SEA-M platform with an 800V architecture. Size: 4688/1995/1755, with a long 3008 mm wheelbase and a 2739 kg curb weight. The turning circle is 4.95 meters. The trunk has a 568-liter capacity, or 2000 liters with the rear seats folded down. The MIX doesn’t have a frunk.
The Zeekr MIX is a single-motor rear-wheel drive MPV. It has a lot of power: 310 kW (422 hp) and 440 Nm. Zeekr limits the top speed to 180 km/h, and 0-100 takes 6.8 seconds. Zeekr offers two battery packs:
- 76 kWh LFP for 550 km. Charging 10-80%: 11 minutes.
- 102 kWh NMC for 702 km. Charging 10-80%: 15 minutes.
ADAS
The Zeekr MIX is watching you! It has Zeekr’s AD L2+ ADAS, powered by two Nvidia Orin-X chips, with a combined computing power of 508 TOPS. The sensors include: 12 cameras, 12 ultrasonic radars, five millimeter-wave radars, and one lidar on the roof.
Pricing of the Zeekr MIX
The Zeekr MIX is relatively expensive compared to other electric MPVs. The base model costs 279.900 yuan ($39.4K) and the top-spec model sells for 299.900 yuan ($42K). The only difference between them is the battery’s size. Sadly, the MIX doesn’t sell very well. It is the worst-selling Zeekr by far, moving around 90 units each month. Price is the main problem, but the design may also be a little too cool for its own good. Chinese consumers like new and daring stuff, but they do have a limit. That’s too bad because I love the Zeekr MIX: it looks cool, it is innovative, and it has lots of power.
