Here’s a Qiyuan E07, seen earlier this summer in south Beijing. The Qiyuan E07 is an ultra-cool Chinese lifestyle SUV that transforms into a pickup truck. It has a mad design with a super-short hood and a long, stretched-out cabin. The front lights are hidden behind a darkened panel.
Design

It has a strong, low-slung stance. The front overhang is minimal, the side windows are small, with wide wheel arches, and roof rails that extend over the rear window.

It also has these beautiful aero wheels with the Qiyuan logo in the middle.
Qiyuan (启源) is a Chinese car brand owned by Changan Automobile, launched in 2023. In some export markets, the brand is called Nevo. The Qiyuan E07 debuted in 2024. In China, it is classified as a mid-size SUV.

The rear is even weirder than the front. The lights are on the sides, with bars running around a glass panel. However, here, the panel is actually part of the rear window. From the cabin, the driver can see through this panel via the rear-view mirror. The sloping window is useless for visibility.
Interior

The interior is luxurious, with leather seats and nice materials. The owner added a rather ugly tissue box under the 15.4-inch touch screen. It also has a 28.8-inch HUD and a 12.8-inch sun visor touch screen for the front passenger. The shifter is at the steering wheel column, and in the center tunnel are two 50W wireless chargers and two heated and cooled cup holders.

Lots of space in the back, but the side windows are really too small.
Specs

The Qiyuan E07 is a large car: 5045/1996/16665, with a 3120 wheelbase. Qiyuan offers EV and EREV power trains.
- EV RWD: 165 kW/328 Nm. 0-100: 7.9s. 70 kWh battery. 551 km range.
- EV RWD: 252 kW/365 Nm. 0-100: 6.7s. 90 kWh battery. 701 km range.
- EV AWD: 440 kW/645 Nm. 0-100: 3.61s. 90 kWh battery, 651 km range.
- EREV AWD: 1.5 turbo ICE with 110 kW/200 Nm + two electric motors with 352 kW/637 Nm combined. 0-100: 5.15s. 39.05 kWh battery, 50-liter fuel tank. The combined range is 1130 km, and the EV range is 230 km.
The EV versions have an 800V architecture for fast charging, which takes only 15 minutes.
Pricing

The Qiyuan E07 is a complex car, and complexity costs money. The price range ranges from 295.900 to 315.900 yuan ($41K-$44K), and, amazing as that may sound, that’s expensive for China for a car of this size.

It has no logo at the front. Nothing! Due to its high price, sales have been slow. The E07 is the least-popular Qiyuan model; it sells about 30-40 units per month. That’s really sad because the Qiyuan E07 is such a great car. I guess Chinese consumers don’t really need a transformer pickup-SUV at this price point, or at all. Similar lifestyle trucks by other brands haven’t been successful either. But the Qiyuan E07 still works as a halo car for the Qiyuan brand, generating massive free publicity when it was launched.
